Geological characteristics of the area
In geological and structural terms, the deposit area is located in the north-west of the Ukrainian shield, in the southern part of Korosten plateau and is attached to the eastern contact of Volodarsk Volynsky gabbro-anorthosite massif.
The Middle Proterozoic rocks covered with weathering crust and mesocenozoic sedimentary formations take part in the geological structure of the region.
In the geological structure of the deposit, within the depth of the past, a crystal of gabbro-anorthosite rocks of the formation of the Korosten plateau takes part, which are blocked by sediments of the weathering crust of crystalline rocks and alluvial-fluvioglacial deposits of the Quaternary age. Precambrian rocks are represented in the basal - gabbro, gabro-anorthosites and labradorite and acid varieties of granite - rapakivi.
Geological structure of the deposit and mining technical conditions of development.
The Kamyanobrode Labradorite deposit is located in the extreme southeastern part of the Volyn main massif, which is composed of anorthosites of the structural and petrographic complex of developed intrusive rocks.
Exploration works uncovered Precambrian crystalline rocks and Quaternary sediments. Macroscopically, labradorite is a dark gray, coarse-grained rock.
The main mineral-bearing mineral is plagioclase (90-95%). The breed is dense, with a bluish sheen on the planes of cleavage.
Fracture of the array is characterized by the lack of system of directions and varying degrees of density. The distance between the cracks in the quarry varies from 0.8 to 3.5 m. Above the minerals lies grus, thickness of 0.9 m and sand.
Sands and in their absence grus, covered with a small thickness of soil and plants. Soft rocks on almost the entire area of ??the inventory calculation in the last years of the career were removed.
Hydrogeological conditions of the deposit
Bystriyivka River in the area of ??the pit is 3-5 m wide, 0.5 to 0.8 m deep, the river flow velocity is small, and the flood is 1.5 m3 / s.
The watercourses of the crystalline rocks of the region are unstable, practically absent in the zone of the deposit. Dry quarry only in the period of intense precipitation and snowfalls from the western and eastern walls shows a leakage of water. The total inflow of point sources is up to 0.1 m3 / s. The discharge of water is made after sedimentation in Bystriyivka River.
The quality of useful minerals
The minerals of Kamennobrodsky Labradorite deposit are represented by gray, various shades, coarse-grained labradorites.
In a qualitative ratio, the minerals are represented by unweathered labradorite.
The chemical composition of non-weathered rocks is characterized by the following content of components
The chemical composition of the unchanged labradorite of Kamennobrodsky deposit
The indicated data show that labradorite for their indicators meet the requirements of the State Standard for the production of blocks and facing products, the production of quarry stone 600-800 and crushed stone.
Balance and industrial reserves of minerals.
The reserves of minerals are approved by the Ukrainian TKZ as raw material for the production of blocks with subsequent processing for non-standard products (GOST 9479-76, 9480-77) in the amount of:
A - 450 thousand m3В -133 thousand m3
The plan for the development of mining operations for 2014. Provides production of 14,700 m3 of unchanged labradorite, including category A-9515 m3. Category В -1113 м3, increase in reserves - 4072 м3.
